List Of 10 Of The Best Semi Classical Songs From The Indian Cinema

Recently it was in the news that the students have started taking interest in the Indian Classical Music as the number of admissions in the universities shows an increasing trend from the past couple of years.

Indian film industry had its major focus on music ever since it started producing movies that could talk. This eventually brought a range of melodies to the audience and they went to the movie that had great songs.

The music directors approached Indian Classical Music to prepare their music. The result was each of the singers and music directors had equal contribution in bringing

us with the greatest of songs that could ever be produced.

Not only did K L Saigal, Mohd. Rafi, Talat Mehmood, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar and other singers of that time contribute but the classical singers are also showed interest in such songs (remember jhanak jhanak payal baje by Ustad Amir Khan or Baje Re Muraliya Baje by Pt. Bhimsen Joshi).

Though there are numerous songs that are worth listening to umpteen times, these are 10 of those that come into my mind when it comes to semi classical music in the Indian cinema.

The purpose here is not to attract any requests for horoscope analysis but just to share the thoughts. Astrology and spiritual matters are my areas of interest.
