Shawn Michaels was sharing the ring for conversation with JBL and Shawn Michaels called JBL as reprehensible. Johnny wasted no time to search the dictionary for the word reprehensible and found out as the one who is unacceptable or inexcusable. Another new word was added to Johnny’s vocabulary now that he could use in his essays, speeches or wherever he could to put an impression.
At first this is for impression then it becomes a habit and with each new word the list of words that you know goes long and long. There are lot of words that the announcers useand are easier to remember if someone pays attention to their conversation.
Recall the moments when Triple H assaulted (even this word is frequently used in WWE) Randy Orton. Randy Orton called Triple H as a Homicidal Maniac. What the hell does a homicidal maniac mean? One has to know it or otherwise he won’t be able to enjoy or understand the conversation between the two players/wrestlers.
Then there are the titles for special events that they use. They are wonderful. Try to memorize and you will find you probably didn’t know the exact meaningof many of them until someone explained them to you or you took them out from the dictionary. Some of such titles for special events are Backlash, Armageddon, and Royal Rumble etc.
Even some of the names have meanings to know for example undertaker that display the creativity and imagination that this wonderful industry has been continuing to bring out from over the years.
Don’t just watch the wrestlers fight but pay attention to the words being exchanged between any two of those on television. There are many of them for example jeopardy, vengeance, resilient, retaliate, exasperate, relentless and the list goes on.
Agreed that majority of terms used there are of brutal nature but many of us watch it why not build some skills rather than just watch to forget. There are lesson not only in the books but there are lessons from the wrestling entertainment too. So keep learning wherever you find a chance to.
