Every generation has some differences. Every senior generation tells their next generations that the time they lived in was better or at least they say it was more human. May be they were right. What do you think? Is there any difference between our generation and our parents’ generation? Some answers might appear obvious, for example technological advancements and increased population. But it is not just the technology that has made the difference. Here are some of the major differences between our generation and our parents’ generation: -
Urge for money: - In the previous generation, people would not care muchabout money. They wouldn’t involve money in everything. Money was important but affection had more importance in the heart and the minds of people. There were fights over money but not as much as are nowadays.
Humanity: - Frustrated, afraid people and not so caring people is what this generation has got. The side effects of population (inflation, fight for survival, land acquisition, crime) are taking away the humanity from the hearts of people. People are more selfish.
Tendency to Show off:- He has got a car, I will get one too. This is what many people think of and thanks to the corporate culture many people can afford that too. People get more attracted towards branded goods. Those who don’t would think of using their items in such a way that it doesn’t repeat.
Job Market: - More and more people want to get into a service. This is easier and more respectful than being a shopkeeper or a farmer. Despite all the negatives, people are happier in getting their children into the service sector.
Internet: - Everything is online. Internet shopping has become a trend. Bill payment, communication, gaming, watching movies, everything could be availed through an internet connection.
It is not that there was no urge for money, inhuman behavior or tendency to show off in the earlier generation but the degree was lower.
