You are performing well at your job. Your boss likes your style and your colleagues want to be like you yet there is something in the job that you don’t like. Is that happening to you? Do you feel like trapped? Do you feel this job was not for you? Do not change your company but wait and think twice. Changing a job at this point won’t certainly help but could lead you into bigger troubles.
Raman was into a job performing well. His boss was happy with him and even he liked the job but the only problem was hehad to stay till late at the office. Raman was a kind of fellow who would go and leave in time. No late sitting, no early going. When his boss started insisting him to stay till late in the office he decided to change the job.
During the interview, he asked the HR manager of the next company whether there was a culture there to make employees work late hours. He was happy that there was none such thing. Later he realized that at least 2 hoursextra work would be imposed on daily basis. Again he changed the job and now everything was fine. Suddenly he found that he was not made to work for others.
What did he do next? Nothing but he kept on thinking how he could start something of his own. Everything required money or support. He had none. Only thing he would do then was keep on thinking and concentrating neither in his job nor his life. He spoiled himself.
If you feel trapped in the job, you may be, don’t make quick decisions. Take advice of others but don’t let others influence you. Don’t make money oriented decisions if your interest doesn’t lie in that job. If you are not the job type guy, try finding out ways. Once you get into the job, it would become more and more difficult as the money you would be drawing from your employer would make you afraid of the consequences of losing the job.
