Here comes yet another Ram Gopal Verma movie based on the underworld and police department conflicts; this time with a different but interesting concept. Department is a movie that displays how the police department and the politicians may function when the underworld rules the city. The obvious question while writing Department movie review is whether to watch Department or not?
The answer is yes. For the following reasons: -
• The character of Amitabh Bachchan
• The mysterious folds in the story
• The standard of acting was generally good and above all,
• The film is not boring
It is notthat the movie is all good. Those who have watched earlier Ram Gopal Verma movies would have certainly got a clue by now of the obvious RGV direction trends. The always moving camera angle disturbs so much that it feels at times to better close the eyes.
Along with the different rather odd camera angles there is a lot of background music that disturbs the flow of the movie. The action has been shot in slow motion which sometimes slows down the pace ofthe movie.
The entry of Amitabh Bachchan is impressive rather the role of Amitabh keeps a strange feeling of whether is he is good or bad. The movie is a one-time watch however at the end it seems that RGV has further expansion plans for the movie.
The South Indian Actor Rana Daggubati is also good in his role of the department police officer. Sanjay Dutt was good as always. Vijay Raaz also had an interesting role as Savatiya.
To control the movements of the underworld in the city the government decides to authorize Sanjay Dutt with special powers to open a department of his own with his rules but with a purpose to rescue the existing department.
