Shape of hand is often paid less attention to than the lines. It is the shape of the hand that decides whether the line will have its full thrust on one’s life or not. For example if the line of head is inclined towards the mount of moon then it means that the person is imaginative and is seldom lost in the imaginations.
However similar case reacts differently with different shapes of hands. For example in a conical hand if such is the case then the person is more towards imaginations and mental work then physical exercise. In case of squarehand the inclination of head line indicates that the person uses his ideas and imagination in his physical efforts. Or if it is the mental work that he does then he gets the full out it etc.
Therefore to proceed with palmistry requires attention to the shape of the hands as well and before jumping to any conclusion to have a glimpse at what type of hand it is. There are 7 basic types of hands as explained by most of the authors and we abide by that: -
• The elementary hand
Not very developed hand with rough skin and bent fingers.
• Square hand
The palm forming
• Spatulate hand
This is widespread at the ends somewhat like a spoon, from one of the either sides.
• Conic hand
As the hand progress it narrows down. Like a cone.
• Philosophic hand
With least muscles and knotty fingers, this hand is of the philosophers.
• Psychic hand
Similar to conic hand but more conic than a conic hand is.
• Mixed hand
This type of hand doesn’t resemble any one kind but looks as if it is a combination of some of them.
The shape of the hand means the shape of the palm only and not the fingers (though the fingers are part of the palm only). Fingers are covered differently as they hold their importance and significant characteristics too.
