Umpteen articles and courses explain the losses and harms caused by getting angry and getting feared. It is not important to get rid of fear and anger but the important thing is how to manage your feelings for your benefit. Management is a very broad term and if not understood properly may lead to misconceptions. If two of the above mentioned feeling or emotions are totally eliminated then the earth would not be that better place to live. Here’s why: -
Close your eyes and try to recall the images of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. The most characteristic feature found inall of them is that they have smiles on their faces while they hold weapons in their hands. This is a quintessence of management. They get angry when required and when they do so everything is in order.
To fear is for mankind’s safety. For example if there were no fear a man or woman would have not followed the safety rules and there would have been number of accidents each day. There would have been lots and lots of carelessness resulting intocomplete disorder. Imagine a house where no one fears the head of the house.
It is the aggression of the head of the house that keeps all in control while it is the fear from the anger that keeps the others in the same house in order. This feeling prevents them from doing the wrong or creating disorder. The important thing is the management of emotions and get angry at the right time or fear at the right time.
It is the fear that helps the man improve upon his weaknesses and it is the aggression that imparts him the power to take him ahead on his mission. The only thing to remember is that when these feelings get out of control of any individual it may create hazardous conditions for those around him. Not only excess fear is harmful but excess anger or aggression is also harmful for self and the others.
